The 2098-DSD-HV150 is an Ultra 3000 drive. This drive is manufactured by Allen-Bradley with the primary purpose of providing simple standalone indexing and multi-axis integrated motion control. The entire Ultra 3000 Drive including the 2098-DSD-HV150 can be directly integrated with the ControlLogix Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) platform and the SOFTLogix controller as well. Integration is made through the Serial Real-Time Communication System (SERCOS) protocol for implementing integrated motion over Ethernet I/P.
The 2098-DSD-HV150 comes with integrated support for use of multi-turn absolute encoders as well as an option to provide external logic power to maintain position the drive’s position in the event of loss of power. It also comes with an embedded RS232 / RS485 communication interface for implementing point-to-point (RS232) and multi-node communication (RS485) utilizing daisy-chain topology.
The 2098-DSD-HV150 has an AC input voltage requirement of 230-480V rms, 3-phase and an input frequency range of 47-63 Hz. Incoming voltage supply are wired to the L3, L2, L1, L1 AUX, and L2/N AUX terminals. Recommended wire sizes are 6 mm2 in diameter or 10 American Wire Gauge (AWG). Tighten connection by applying 1.25 N-m (11 lb-in.). The output parameters of this drive include 34 A continuous output current, intermittent output current 68A, Continuous Power Output of 7.5 kW at 230 VAC input and 15 kW at 460 VAC input. This product has been tested and verified by Allen-Bradley for operation in hazardous and adverse working conditions, including adverse temperature ranges. The internal 5 Volt DC power supply has a resettable fuse that opens at 3A and automatically resets when the current falls below 3A. To avoid signal loss, do not mix glass and plastic cables while connecting the 2098-DSD-HV150 to a bulkhead adapter. The 2098-DSD-HV150 is easy to transport and install in remote locations because there are simple instructions for different types of mountings and the 2098-DSD-HV150 can work in temperature ranges between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius.
