The Allen-Bradley 2098-IPD-075-DN drive is a 3-phase AC-powered intelligent positioning drive from the Ultra 5000 series. Its input voltage rating is 100 to 240 Volts AC RMS (Root Means Square) at 47 to 63 Hertz frequency. The 2098-IPD-075-DN intelligent positioning drive communicates with other devices through a DeviceNet network interface that connects to the drive through a port on its front panel. This drive can support an auxiliary power supply. The 2098-IPD-075-DN intelligent positioning drive can operate at 0 to 55 degrees Celsius and it can be stored or transported at -40 to 70 degrees Celsius.

Allen Bradley Ultra5000 2098-IPD-075-DN is a fully programmable, high speed, high precision, 240 Volt AC, 3-phase servo drive with DeviceNet connectivity; it can provide a continuous output power of 7.5 KW, requires a 3-phase, 240 Volt AC supply, and can operate small to midsize servo motors for applications like conveyor belts, robotic arms, CNC routers, etc.
The 2098-IPD-075-DN has an internal Shunt circuitry that turns on when necessary to protect the drive and dissipate excessive regenerated power, that would otherwise return from the motor to the drive module during deceleration when connected to heavy mechanical loads. There is an additional option to connect external shunt resistors when the internal shunt is not sufficient.
The Ultra5000 2098-IPD-075-DN features a large number of fully programmable, Fully configurable GPIOs (16 DI,7 DO, 2 AI, 2 AO). This allows the drive to receive many commands or sensor inputs and simply sends many status and diagnostics signals.
This feature eliminates the need for any external PLC or controller for simple motion control applications.
This terminal’s configuration and status parameters can be read or written through the DeviceNet Connectivity available in the drive, which means that it can be connected to HMIs, PLCs, SCADA systems or whatever system supports DeviceNet Protocol.  It also has a healthy 35 Amperes (0-peak) Continuous Output Current and 75 Amperes (0-peak) Intermittent Output Current, all contained in its convenient 5.55 x 9.73 x 14.20 inch (166.4 x 274.3 x 360.7 millimeter) dimensions.
