The 2098-IPD-150 AC drive is an intelligent positioning drive that is used to perform smart positioning applications for industrial motors. It has been designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation as part of the Ultra 5000 series. The 2098-IPD-150 intelligent positioning drive operates with 100 to 240 Volts AC 3-phase RMS voltage at 47 to 63 Hertz. It uses an external power supply which is a digital I/O power supply. The 2098-IPD-150 intelligent positioning drive should have an earth ground connection to guarantee safe system operation at all times.

The Allen-Bradley 2098-IPD-150 Ultra5000 Intelligent Positioning Drive is a high-performance and fully programmable servo drive systems. The gadget is capable of precise high-speed calculations. The processing time for calculations related to position can be as low as 125 microseconds. The users can program the servo drive unit by the use of motion commands in the ANSI C format.
The 2098-IPD-150 Ultra5000 Intelligent Positioning Drive system consists of 4 main components. They include a Ultra5000 Intelligent Positioning Drive, a TL-Series or MP-Series rotary motor, 1 motor power cable, and a feedback cable. Sometimes the system also includes a Bulletin 2090 external passive or active shunt module.
The AC input voltage requirements for the 2098-IPD-150 servo drive system vary from as low as just 100 volts to as high as 240 volts. Such a great voltage flexibility allows it to work under extreme power fluctuations without any adverse effects on its performance. Here it is also noteworthy that, at the input voltage of 230V AC, the continuous power output is around 15 kW.
