The Allen-Bradley 9101-1929 belongs to the Ultra3000 SERCOS interface system series and it is available with 500W, 1, 2, 3, 7.5, and 15kW continuous output and 230V input power. In SERCOS drives, the relay output is a brake output, where close contacts release a motor brake and there is no overload protection on the transistor outputs. Take note of the input voltage because the device may catch a high current on startup which can be risky to the drive and the personnel. The 9101-1929 includes one serial port that implements the NRZ asynchronous serial format and supports RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 communications ports. There are various options for setup and installation, including DIN-rail mounting. This system is sensitive to electrostatic discharge, which can cause internal damage and affects normal operations. While inserting or removing the module when the backplane power is on, an electric arc can occur, this could cause an explosion in hazardous locations installations. The ControlLogix SERCOS interface module use fiber optics that is rated with Class 1 IEC LED safety classification. System performance depends on clean port optics and cable ferrules which keep the dust and small particles from blocking the optical path. Make sure you are using the appropriate amount of input voltage for accurate results.
The Allen-Bradley 9101-1929 is a strong drive with an Input Voltage (AC) of 100-240 Voltage Root Means Square (Single Phase), an Input Frequency (AC) of 47-63 Hertz, and a Nominal Input Current (AC) of 28 Amperes Root Means Square. It also has a healthy 15 Amperes (0-peak) Continuous Output Current and 30 Amperes (0-peak) Intermittent Output Current, all contained in its convenient dimensions of 14.2 x 9.6 x 3.6 in (360.68 x 243.84 x 91.44 mm).
