The 9101-2340 (2098-DSD-020) Ultra 3000 Digital Servo Drive with Analog Command Interface by Allen-Bradley is a 1-phase high-performance drive used for control of most servo motors. It has 100-240V AC input voltage at 47-63Hz with a 18A (nom) input current and a 100A current surge.  It has a BUS capacitance of 1880μF and provides 400V DC BUS over-voltage protection. The drive has an output power of 2KW and with maximum energy absorption of 51J. The 9101-2340 (2098-DSD-020) provides circuit protection using a Class J and Class CC 230V AC Bussman fuse and it supports a 5-Volt auxiliary logic supply. The drive provides motor feedback through 4 input encoders with a 2.5 MHz encoder frequency and a start-up commutation. It has a maximum heat dissipation of 50 Watts and it is built to function without de-rating at a working temperature range of 40-70° C at a relative humidity environment of 5-95% without condensation. It regulates motor velocity using the proportional–integral–derivative (PID) with a maximum update time of 250 microseconds and it employs a digital PID with feed-forward control ability for the drive’s positioning. The 9101-2340 (2098-DSD-020) has 8 current sinking digital inputs with 4 current sourcing digital outputs and a 30V DC 1A Normally-Open relay output. The drive communicates with external devices using the 9-pin female D-Sub serial port connector, connected to the single base RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 serial port with 1200-38400 baud transmission rate. It can maintain optimal function through a shock of 15G and a vibration of 2.5G and it can be installed at an altitude of 1500m (4921.5ft) without de-rating. The 9101-2340 (2098-DSD-020) weighs around 2.1kg (4.6lbs) and it has a total volume of 98.1mm x 32.77mm x 65.02mm.
