The Allen-Bradley 700DC-R420Z24 Sealed Switch Relay from the 700DC Relays series provides industrial users with a 2-fold advantage: enhanced protection against hazardous atmospheres and extended mechanical and electrical endurance. These advantages are accomplished by placing the electrical contacts inside a sealed, watertight, and encapsulated chamber that effectively isolates the contacts from the external atmosphere where the relay is going to be installed. The Allen-Bradley 700DC-R420Z24 Sealed Switch Relay comes from the factory to operate with a coil voltage range from 24 to 250 Volts for both AC and DC power sources. Depending on the power source, the coil power rating can vary between 5.5 VA (when using a 50/60 Hertz AC voltage) and 5.5 Watts (when using a DC power source).

The Allen-Bradley 700DC-R420Z24 Sealed Switch Relay has been specifically designed for panel mounting, although it can also be installed on a DIN rail after performing some special adjustments. They are well-suited for applications where intense vibrations and shock are expected. The most common application of the Allen-Bradley 700DC-R420Z24 Sealed Switch Relay is providing a safe means to remotely connect and disconnect electrical loads in hazardous environments classified as Class 1, Division 2 Groups A, B, C, and D. The electrical contacts can be arranged in any way that is most convenient for the application, with up to 8 poles, in any combination of normally open and normally closed contacts. The operating temperature range recommended by Allen Bradley is from -40 to +60 degrees Celsius (-40 to +140 degrees Fahrenheit).
