The Allen Bradley 845 series encoders are advanced encoders designed for operation with motors in industrial motion control and automation systems. These encoders deliver accurate position and speed feedback to ensure optimal performance in a variety of industrial applications. The 845 series includes several subseries of absolute and incremental encoders with different ratings and features. The 845 encoders in the Bulletin 845S and Bulletin 845H subseries are incremental encoders, and the 845 encoders in the Bulletin 845D and Bulletin 845G subseries are absolute encoders. Many 845 encoders have IP66-rated enclosures that can protect them from dust and from moderate amounts of water. The incremental encoders in the Bulletin 845S and Bulletin 845H subseries can operate at ambient temperatures between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius. The absolute encoders in the Bulletin 845D and Bulletin 845G subseries can operate at ambient temperatures between 0 and 85 degrees Celsius. The Bulletin 845G encoders can also operate at ambient temperatures between -20 and 85 degrees Celsius in some applications.
Different 845 series encoders can support different code formats. Encoders in the Bulletin 845S and 845H subseries support 2-channel incremental code formats with zero index. The Bulletin 845D encoders can support natural binary, gray code, or binary-coded decimal (BCD) code formats. The Bulletin 845G encoders can support standard gray code, gray code (SSI), natural binary, or binary-coded decimal (parallel) code formats. The incremental encoders in the 845S and 845H subseries support slew speed ratings of up to 6000 RPM, and the absolute encoders in the 845D and 845G subseries support spew speed ratings of up to 5000 RPM. The 845 series encoders can support a variety of mounting configurations with a variety of flange mounting and servo mounting options. Encoders from the 845S, 845H, 845D, and 845G subseries can all support shock ratings of 50g for 11 ms and vibration ratings of 20g or 1.5 mm of displacement. Different 845 encoders support different types of axial and radial connections. Bulletin 845S, 845H, and 845D encoders can support 5V DC or 8-24V DC power supplies. Bulletin 845G encoders can support 5V DC, 8-24V DC, or 10-30V DC power supplies.
