The Allen-Bradley Flex I/O 1793 series is series of a versatile I/O modules that are designed to meet the needs of various industrial automation applications. The 1793 I/O modules can be used to control and monitor field devices such as sensors, actuators, and other I/O devices for automation systems. The 1793 series includes different types of I/O modules that allow users to design and configure their I/O systems precisely according to specific application requirements. These I/O modules can be mounted on DIN rails. The Flex I/O 1793 I/O modules can be used in new systems or retrofitted into existing systems. Most 1793 I/O modules can operate in ambient temperatures from 32 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit or 0 to 55 degrees Celsius, and they can be stored in ambient temperatures from -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit or -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. They can tolerate up to 95% relative humidity in operation and storage. The 1793 I/O modules require 12 gauge stranded wire for their conductors.
The Allen-Bradley Flex I/O 1793 series I/O modules are available with different numbers and types of I/O channels. Flex I/O 1793 I/O modules are available with 4 analog outputs, 2 analog inputs and 1 analog output, 4 analog outputs, or 2 analog outputs, among other options. Many 1793 I/O modules have 16 terminals, and these terminals can be screw-cage terminals or spring-clamp terminals. Several I/O modules support 7-9 lb-in of screw terminal torque. Additionally, many 1793 I/O modules support 16-bit 2's complement data formats that are left-justified. Some I/O modules support successive approximation conversion and some support pulse width modulation conversion. Many 1793 I/O modules support 850V DC of channel-to-system isolation voltage for 1 second, but they do not support channel-to-channel isolation voltage. Some of the I/O modules have a green power indicator light that indicates when the module is powered on. Most 1793 series I/O modules have been tested at maximum operating shock ratings of 30g peak acceleration and maximum nonoperating shock ratings of 50g peak acceleration.
