Allen Bradley MDF Integrated Drive Motors

The Allen-Bradley Kinetix 6000M series is a family of MDF Integrated Drive Motors (IDM) that provides an all-inclusive solution for achieving Kinetix integrated motion in 400 Volts applications. The system consists of a premium permanent magnet servo motor with an integrated drive.  This series comprises up to 16 different integrated drive-motor units that are available in 3-speed ratings of 3000, 3500, and 5000 revolutions per minute (RPM). Each unit has an IP 66 housing coated with USDA food-grade paint to comply with food/beverage production and processing applications standards, and they feature keyed or keyless shafts. The MDF Integrated Drive Motors come in 100, 115, and 130-millimeter frame sizes. They feature the safe torque-off functionality and an optional high-resolution multi-turn encoder capable of 524,288 counts per revolution within 4096 turns. Some units in this series feature a 24 Volts DC holding brake.

Control of the MDF Integrated Drive Motors is accomplished through the units’ power interface modules and it communicates through a Sercos network. The 2 LED indicators provide drive and network information. The connector options for devices in this series are circular SpeedTec connectors that support 180-degree rotation. Hybrid cables are used for control, communication, and power connections between the power interface module and the MDF Integrated Drive Motor system. The servo drive of each unit offers thermal-based motor overload protection to guard against fault currents. Members of this series are designed to be mounted directly on the machine, in any position. MDF integrated drive motors can be integrated with platforms like the CompactLogix and ControlLogix platforms.
