The N-5637-2-H04AA is a NEMA Frame Style (N-Series) Brushless Servo Motor manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is rated 230 Volts AC motor winding Voltage, 50 lb/in continuous torque, 5.64 N-m holding torque, and 1.6 N-m friction torque, .32 N-m/krpm Damping, 2000 encoder line count, and 4000 Revolutions Per Minute maximum operating speed. It features a 24 Volts DC holding the brake and a standard flange for mounting. The N-5637-2-H04AA Servo motor is capable of driving axial and radial loads and machinery in industrial environments, and it must be integrated into a controlled system that includes a motor controller and transistorized electronic amplifier. It is not designed for use with a direct power supply or thyristor drives.
Note that the spring-set type holding brakes of the N-5637-2-H04AA Servo motor is designed only to hold the motor’s shaft at 0 Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) and not for stopping shaft rotation. The stopping brake requirements of the N-5637-2-H04AA Servo motor are achieved by instructing the motor controller to decelerate the motor’s shaft speed to 0 Revolutions Per Minute before applying the holding brakes. The brakes can be controlled through manual operator controls or Servo Motor controls. Engaging the holding brakes as stopping brakes can result in damage to the motor or other system components. To ensure hassle-free operation the N-5637-2-H04AA Servo motor, use a reinforced timing belt or torsionally rigid coupling for coupling and pulleys connected to the shaft, and inspect mechanical connections to the shaft of regularly because the high dynamic performance of the N-5637-2-H04AA Servo motor can cause the loosening of mechanical connections to the motor's shaft. In addition, using non-rigid couplers will hinder performance and result in difficulty in achieving a proper response from the control system.
