The 1408-EM3A-ENT module is a demand, energy, and power monitor module from the Allen-Bradley PowerMonitor 1000 family. Other types of devices which are available form Allen-Bradley as part of PowerMonitor 1000 family include basic consumption meters and basic consumption and troubleshooting meters. An integrated Ethernet port is provided on the 1408-EM3A-ENT module for network communication. The 1408-EM3A-ENT module can operate with both DC and AC input voltage. The 1408-EM3A-ENT module is intended for use as a circuit protective device and it should not be used as a circuit protective relay or as a motor overload relay. To prevent injury and equipment damage, all sources of power must be disconnected prior to beginning any work related to the installation or maintenance of the 1408-EM3A-ENT module. Failure to do so can lead to property damage, injury, or even death. Only trained technicians should undertake activities relating to the installation and repair of the 1408-EM3A-ENT module.
The 1408-EM3A-ENT module connects to a three-phase or split-phase AC power system. It converts the voltage and current values to digital values and then uses the digital values for calculating the power, energy, voltage, and current. Protocols supported by the RS-485 interface include the Modbus RTU slave, DH-485, DF1 half-duplex slave, and DF1 full-duplex protocols. The control input to the device can be either 120 to 240 Volts AC or 125 to 250 Volts DC. The working temperature range for the 1408-EM3A-ENT drive is -10 to 60 degrees Celsius. The dielectric withstand rating complies with the UL61010 and EN61010. Only 22 to 14 AWG copper wire is recommended for wires that terminate on the voltage and current sensing inputs on the 1408-EM3A-ENT drive.
The 1408-EM3A-ENT module is a demand, energy, and power monitor module from the PowerMonitor 1000 family. An integrated Ethernet port is provided on the 1408-EM3A-ENT module for network communication. The control input to the device can be either 120 to 240 Volts AC or 125 to 250 Volts DC.
