Allen Bradley RDB Direct Drive Motors

The Allen-Bradley RDD Series Direct Drive Motors provide improved system performance by leveraging their direct-coupling-to-load support. These direct drive rotary servo motors completely bypass the inefficiency that is generated by mechanisms such as pulleys and gearboxes in a motion system. Equipped with speed ratings of 177 to 1,836 revolutions per minute, the RDB Direct Drive Motors are uniquely suited to address the needs of applications that have tight space constraints as well as high-performance requirements. Their stall torque specifications are 32.7 to 236 N-m (continuous) and 86.5 to 1050 N-m (peak). Every RDB Direct Drive Motor has a bearingless housing with a bolt circle diameter frame size of 290 millimeters or 410 millimeters.

The Allen-Bradley RDD Series Direct Drive Motors are available in 400 Volts ratings with circular SpeedTec DIN cable connectors for feedback and power connections. The housings and shafts have an environmental protection rating of IP 65 for blind-bore models and a rating of IP 64 for through-bore models. The high-resolution multi-turn and single-turn encoders with the Heidenhain encoder protocol are the feedback options for the motors in this product family. The output power of the RDB Direct Drive Motors is rated between 1.97 to 8.69 kilowatts. They feature the standard IEC 72-1 mounting dimensions and they can be mounted in horizontal or vertical orientations. Each unit has a shaft key and a mounting pilot for aligning the motor to a machine. The compression couplings for fastening the shafts of the RDB Direct Drive Motors to machines have 6 bolts (for RDB-x290x models) or 10 bolts (for RDB-x410x models).
