The SafeZone safety laser scanners were manufactured by Allen-Bradley as industrial safety devices. These safety scanners offer a range of customizable settings and are designed to address various industrial safety needs. They monitor hazardous areas in indoor industrial environments to protect personnel and equipment. The SafeZone series includes single-zone and multizone scanner models. It also includes mini scanners. The SafeZone scanners can be used in hazardous point protection, hazardous area protection, access protection, and vehicle protection applications. To operate properly, SafeZone scanners should only be used with machines, systems, or vehicles that have electrical control systems. These scanners are active scanners that use electro-sensitive scanning technology, and they do not require reflectors or receivers to operate. This makes them easier to install than scanners that require reflectors and receivers and they experience less wear as they operate. The SafeZone safety laser scanners use infrared lasers.
The Allen-Bradley SafeZone safety laser scanners are available with different features that are suitable for different applications. The SafeZone mini scanners are easy to install because they are small and designed for standalone operation. Additionally, the mini scanners support scan areas of up to 270 degrees and scanning ranges of up to 3 meters. The SafeZone mini scanners each support one monitoring case, one field set, status LEDs, a 7-segment display screen, and an integrated EDM or external device monitoring feature. The SafeZone single-zone and multizone scanners only support scanning angles of 170 degrees maximum, but they also support scanning ranges of up to 5 meters. Additionally, the single-zone and multizone scanners each support an integrated EDM feature, a 7-segment display screen, and status LEDs similar to those of the mini scanners. The SafeZone single-zone scanners have 1 field set while the SafeZone multizone scanners have 2 to 4 field sets. All SafeZone scanners are designed to be immune to moderate amounts of dust, debris particles, and external light.
