The Allen Bradley TLS1-GD2 switch serves as a tongue-operated guard-locking interlock switch that provides safety in machinery applications. This device features a power-to-release locking mechanism, allowing for secure operation and immediate disengagement when required. The switch is equipped with three normally closed (NC) contacts and two normally open (NO) contacts for versatility in various safety circuits.

It is engineered to handle a maximum holding force of 2,000 N, along with a releasable load of up to 100 N, effectively maintaining the safety locking whenever needed. Thermal current handling capacity reaches 10 A, making it suitable for various electrical system configurations. Additionally, the switch is rated for an insulation voltage of 500 V, along with an impulse voltage rating of 2,500 V, providing protection against unexpected surges.

The TLS1-GD2 has a minimum switching rating of 5V DC at 5 mA, which is beneficial for low-energy circuit environments. The contact gap is greater than 2 mm, allowing for safety and efficiency in operation. With a maximum actuation speed of 160 mm/s, the switch is responsive under operational conditions. The actuation frequency does not exceed 1 cycle per second, providing steady operation without excessive wear.

In terms of environmental protection, the TLS1-GD2 is rated IP67, making it resistant to dust and capable of withstanding immersion in water, further enhancing its reliability in harsh conditions. Its operating temperature range spans from -20 to 60 °C, allowing for functionality in various climates and industrial settings.
