The 1440-VAD02-01RA module is an aero-derivative module by Allen-Bradley that is part of the XM series. This is a 2-channel module that has been designed to monitor aero-derivative gas turbine engines like the GE LM2500 engine. The 1440-VAD02-01RA module configuration can be done per channel to execute either a bandpass filter or tracking filter, while it continues to monitor the overall broadband level on each channel. Moreover, the1440-VAD02-01RA module aero-derivative module accepts signals from most typical standard voltage output measurement devices, like pressure or velocity transducers. In addition to the vibration inputs, the 1440-VAD02-01RA module also accepts one tachometer input which provides speed measurements as well as order tracking functions. The module also comes with a single onboard relay which can be expanded to five relays, two 4 to 20 mA rated outputs, and a buffered output for every unit input.

The 1440-VAD02-01RA aero-derivative module can collect data while in the startup/coast-down and state-ready conditions. In addition to this, the module can also monitor up to 12 alarms, which makes the 1440-VAD02-01RA module a complete monitoring system. This module can function as a stand-alone device. Also, it can be used on a dedicated or standard DeviceNet network, in which it provides status information and real-time data to PLCs, DCS (distributed control systems), condition monitoring systems, and other XM modules. Before installing the 1440-VAD02-01RA module, make sure to calculate the power requirements of all the interconnected modules through the side connectors. The total current draw via the side connector should not exceed 3 Amps. In cases where the total current draw of the interconnecting modules exceeds 4 Amps, make sure to use a separate connection.
