The Allen-Bradley 140G-G2C3-C15 molded case circuit breaker is a thermal-magnetic circuit breaker from the 140G circuit breaker family designed to provide short-circuit protection for a wide variety of control panel applications. Like all 140G circuit breakers, the 140G-G2C3-C15 circuit breaker is sized according to the Table 430-152 of the NEC (National Electrical Code). The 140G-G2C3-C15 circuit breaker is suitable for branch circuits or main circuits with 600 Volts AC (690 Volts IEC) operating voltage. It has a breaking capacity value of 25 kiloamps (at 480 Volts AC), and a current rating of 125 Amps. The 140G-G2C3-C15 circuit breaker has a fixed thermal/magnetic trip unit with fixed thermal and magnetic trip ratings of 500 Amps and 15 Amps, respectively. The circuit breaker trips instantaneously when the current flowing through the circuit breaker exceeds the breaker’s set value.
The 140G-G2C3-C15 circuit breaker provides a thermal trip action by using its bimetallic element, which deflects when large currents flow through the circuit for long. It also provides magnetic trip action via an electromagnet coil that provides a magnetic field that is proportional to the applied current on the circuit, thus tripping when the current exceeds the set trip value. The 140G-G2C3-C15 circuit breaker has a lifespan rating of 25,000 operations (240 operations per hour), and an electrical lifespan of 8000 operations (120 operations per hour). It has 3-pole wiring with line and load side terminals. It is supplied with standard 1-meter pig-tail wiring terminals for installing internal accessories. The 140G-G2C3-C15 circuit breaker is mounted on a DIN rail, and it has an ingress protection rating of IP 20 or IP 40. The 140G-G2C3-C15 circuit breaker is calibrated for a 40 degrees Celsius ambient enclosure temperature, and it can be stored within a temperature range of -40 to 80 degrees Celsius. The 140G-G2C3-C15 circuit breaker weighs about 1.1 kilograms, and it has total dimensions of 76 x 70 x 130 millimeters.
