The 1606-XLDNET8 AC/DC power supply module is manufactured by Allen-Bradley in the 1606-XL power supply series. It has an input voltage range of 115 to 230 Volts AC and of 240 to 375 Volts DC, an output voltage of 24 Volts DC, and an output current of 8 Amps. This module also has 47 to 63 Hertz frequency, 2.3 to 5 Amps of current, and a typical efficiency rating of 90 percent. It supports a DIN rail for mounting and it uses 22 to 12 AWG solid and stranded cables.  Among the notable features of the 1606-XLDNET8 power supply are its ultra-small size, extra-low inrush current, and its active power factor correction. It also features wide-ranging AC/DC input, including the auto select input, and the superior reserve power that supports up to 150 percent of the rated power for five seconds. It also features excellent efficiency and as well as temperature ratings with the DC-OK and overload LEDs.

The Allen-Bradley 1606-XLSDNET8 power supply is part of the Dimension XLS power supply family, which is designed and intended to meet the DeviceNet requirements. Some of the features of DeviceNet power supplies include overload and nominal currents that are sized for DeviceNet cables ratings. The 1606-XLDNET8 power supply also has large load capacitors, which can be charged quickly. When turned on, the module’s output voltage upturns depending on the timing of the DeviceNet specification. The highest level of the module’s output level is restricted to guard the network. Other features include high immunity to transients as well as power surges and a low electromagnetic emission level which can be used in almost any environment.
