The 1732DS-IB8XOBV4 is an ArmorBlock Guard I/O DeviceNet Safety modules manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is basically a Safety I/O module with solid state outputs. This module includes Eight (8) Safety Input, Eight (8) Test Output and Four (4) bipolar pairs of Safety outputs.

Every test output may be configured to run as a pulse test output or a standard pulse output. These test outputs are used with a safety input. If detecting broken wires, only terminals T3 and T7 are capable of doing such function.

This ArmorBlock Guard I/O has physical dimensions of 70 mm x 179 mm x 68.7 mm (HxWxD). Install his hardware in an enclosure that protect the hardware from direct sunlight and keep away from temperature and humidity that exceeds the required operating temperature and relative humidity. It must bot also be exposed to corrosive or flammable gasses and shock and vibration to its installation point must be within the operable range.

The ArmoBlock Guard I/O are hardened, low cost I/O modules that are designed for field or on-machine installations. This module may be mounted close to the sensor and actuating devices to minimize cable layout and installation. This module may be used in applications such as automotive, material handling systems, manufacturing and high-speed packaging applications. This module also has DeviceNet interface.

When utilizing the DeviceNet interface, drop length shall not exceed 5.7 m or 19 ft. and with this type of module, the total drop length for each 1732DS module is reduced by 0.30 m or 1 ft. The Allen-Bradley 1732DS-IB8XOBV4 Safety I/O Module include a maximum and minimum current rating of 25 and 5 mA, respectively. This safety module also comes standard with short circuit protection and it has a current-sinking and current-sourcing input and output type. With respect to the pulse test output, the 1732DS-IB8XOBV4 Module has a pulse test output current of 0.7 Amps, along with a maximum residual voltage of 1.2 Volts.
