* The Allen Bradley 1760-CBL-PM02 has been discontinued by the manufacturer, however we specialize in obsolete parts and can likely still supply surplus and/or refurbished replacement 1760-CBL-PM02 units instead of migration.

The Allen-Bradley 1760-CBL-PM02 is a PICO programming cable used to connect a PC to a PICO controller. This programming interface cable allows users to make configurations on a PICO controller using a PC connected to it. Users can connect the 1760-CBL-PM02 cable to a PICO controller directly without the need for an adapter and it shares the same socket with a memory module compatible to the controller, so users cannot add a cable and a memory module to it at the same time.

These PICO controllers offer clock operations that are real-time and can perform basic operations such as timing, logic, and counting. These controllers are suitable for applications featuring relay replacement or those that require simple controls, such as HVAC, building, and parking lot lighting. PICO controllers allow users to add expansion modules to it, specifically input and output modules, and certain models feature a display with a keypad input on the controller and are either AC- or DC-powered. Note that the display on PICO controllers supports multiple languages and is capable of displaying text with up to 16 characters in a maximum of 4 lines. When using the 1760-CBL-PM02 cable with a PICO controller, make sure that the operating temperature falls within a -25 to 55 deg. Celsius range and only store it in a location that has a temperature ranging from -40 to 70 deg. Celsius.

This cable is compatible for use with Pico Controller units. It is highly advised to use only 1760-CBL-PM02 when transferring data or connecting to the controller. Other cables may look similar but are not compatible for use with the controller. Other cables may even cause damage to the module.

When transferring data to the Pico controller, the serial end of the programming cable must be connected to the COM port of the programming workstation. The other end of the cable connects to the Pico Interface terminal that is located at the bottom of the controller.

As serial communication ports are absent on most desktop and laptops that functions as programming workstation, the 1760-CBL-PM02 may still be used in combination with the Allen-Bradley USB to Serial adapter communication kit with part number 9300-USBS. This enables connection to USB communication cable instead of the computer’s COM port. It supports Baud Rate of 9600 with other configurations including No Parity, 8 Stop Bits, 1, (CRC or BCC).

This communication cable is a discontinued product along the entire Pico Controller product family. This product family is designed to be migrated to the new generation Allen-Bradley Micro 800 Programmable Controllers ideal for Micro and small automation requirements.
