The Allen-Bradley 1760-L12BWB is a Pico Controller that belongs to the 1760 product bulletin. Pico Controllers are DIN rail or panel mounted nano-controllers that perform Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) like functions. It has built-in timers, counters, electronic relays and capable of being built with control logic to perform the programmed user logic.

The 1760-L12BWB comes with embedded Eight (8) 24VDC inputs, Four (4) Relay outputs, Two (2) 0-10VDC analog input channels. Additionally, this compact, nano-controller has built-in display readout and keypad for local configuration of the controller. It is also equipped with a real-time clock for local time-stamping and scheduling of simple tasks.

The 1760-L12BWB operated when supplied with 24VDC line power. This specific model of Pico controller does not support I/O expansion hence, the embedded I/O cannot be complemented with additional I/O modules.

The embedded keypad includes Delete, Alt, directional cursor buttons used to move the cursor, select menu item, and choose numbers, values, times and other variables. It also has an Ok button for confirmation and Escape button. The embedded display is capable of displaying the status of inputs and output channels, day of the week, time and controller operating mode such as Run or Stop. This controller also has a LED indicator for reporting the status of the supply power. The LED indicators indicated absence of incoming power when the LED is OFF, Power is supplied but controller is in Stop mode when LED is continuously lit and Power is present and controller in Run mode when LED is flashing.

The 1760-L12BWB has dimensions are 2.81 inches x 2.28 inches x 3.54 inches and comes with DIN Rail and Panel mounting options. Because of these dimensions, it can be easily mounted in small areas. This controller has been designed to perform basic logical operations such as counting, timing, and executing real-time clock operations. For control applications, this module is highly useful because it can replace both the relays and timers. Applications such as lighting and barrier control can be easily controlled through this device. The 1760-L12BWB features 8 input and 4 output channels. The input current for input 1 through 6 is 3.3 mA while the remaining two inputs channels have an input current of 2.2 mA at 24 Volts DC line power. The on-state voltages lie between 15-28.8 Volts DC while anything less than 5 Volts DC lies in the off-state range. For inductive loads, the maximum output current is 3 Amps while for purely resistive loads, the channels can provide up to 8 Amps. The 1760-L12BWB also features a protective circuit breaker called the B16 as well. An 8 Amps fuse is also an option. The unit consumes around 80 mA at 24 Volts DC input and it can work in extreme weathers. It has a working range from -13 degrees Fahrenheit to 131 degrees Fahrenheit and a humidity tolerance of up to 95%. There is a real-time clock and an LCD. The clock has an accuracy of plus/minus 5 seconds per day. In case of a voltage dip, the module takes 10 milliseconds to respond. For user-interaction, there is a keypad which can be used to program and adjust the data in the controller.
