The 1760-OW2 module is an Allen-Bradley expansion module that can be used with Pico controllers from the Allen-Bradley Bulletin 1760 product line. This expansion module is one of the smallest expansion modules that is available from the 1760 product line. It has 2 relay outputs and no inputs of any kind. The 1760-OW2 expansion module uses 24 Volts DC of rated line power. The 1760-OW2 expansion module connects to the Pico controller that it works with through an included device that is known as an expansion module connector.

The 1760-OW2 is a pico expansion module designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley under the standards of the 1760 series of pico controllers. This device is connected to the pico controller, which is an electronic control relay with built-in logic, timer, counter, and real-time functions. A pico expansion module is used to increase the module’s I/O capacity. The main parts of the Allen-Bradley 1760-OW2 pico expansion module are its incoming power, inputs, its write-on surface, its outputs, and its LED status lights. The Allen-Bradley 1760-OW2 pico expansion module has an output composed of two relays and a line power of 24 Volts DC. It is not necessary for the expansion module and the pico controller to have the exact voltage type. This expansion module is to be connected directly to the pico controller. To achieve this, it is fundamental that an electrical isolation of at least 400 Volts AC and a reinforced isolation of 240 Volts AC are provided between the pico and the expansion module, in order to provide a minimal level of protection against electrical shocks.
The installation of this unit is simple; once the Allen-Bradley 1760-OW2 pico expansion module is connected to a pico controller, they are installed in an enclosure or cabinet, in order to protect the power feed and terminals during operations. Once they have been connected together, a surge suppressor is required in order to protect and extend the operating life of the controller’s output contacts. The dimensions of the Allen-Bradley 1760-OW2 pico expansion module are 35.5 millimeters (1.4 inches) x 90 millimeters (3.55 inches) x 56.5 millimeters (2.08 inches), and it has an approximate weight of 70 grams.
