The Allen-Bradley 1786-RPFS ControlNet Repeater is a fiber module that belongs to the Allen-Bradley 1786 Repeaters series. This repeater is strong and designed with a white paint job. It has two levels, with each forming rectangular shape. The side of the upper level has the cooling fan of the device with a default space to allow ventilation while the name of the brand is written on the uppermost part of the device. The upper part of the first level has an illustrative use of the repeater. The front part of the lower level has the main control and operational keys. Apart from the main port of connection made of metal, there are six other ports with other parts carefully arranged beside one another.
In addition, the modern 1786-RPFS repeater and short-distance fiber module has a distance rating of 0 to 300m, which is typical of normal repeaters. This makes it perform optimally in the extension of networks and conversion of network media. It has an adapter that serves as a source of power to the module. Also, both the modules and adapters have double status indicators that can easily be interpreted during operations; it states whether the data being processed and recovered are error-free or not. This helps users to make informed decisions. Further, the 1786-RPFS ControlNet Repeater uses the 200/230 micron hard-clad silica (HSC) fiber type. It is most compatible with an RPA/B adapter. Through this adapter, the 1786-RPFS ControlNet Repeater generates an input power of 5V DC. This is expertly supported with a 300 mA backplane current draw. In conclusion, the 1786-RPFS ControlNet Repeater has 650 nm red fiber operating wavelength. It is supported with 4.2 dB attenuation levels.
