1791-16A0

The Allen-Bradley 1791-16A0 is a Discrete I/O block that belongs to the small, self-contained Distributed I/O products. This device has embedded Sixteen (16) 120VAC inputs, including power supply and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) interface.

The Block I/O family, including the 1791-16A0 has built-in functionalities such as and I/O rack, an adapter, power supply, input and output device. Block I/Os are installed in daisy-chain configuration to a scanner in the network, particularly a controller. Input and outputs are asynchronously scanned and transferred to and from the block I/O and the controller.

The 1769-16A0 supports integration of proximity switches, limit switches, selector switches, float switches, pushbutton switches, auxilliary contacts and other discrete operating devices.

The 1769-16A0 is compatible for use with 1771 series output modules provided that the off-state leakage current of the module is less than the minimum OFF-state current of the Block I/O. Additionally, the minimum ON-state voltage of the bock I/O must be higher that the supply voltage, less the on-state voltage drop across the 1771 output module. A number of modules that meet the compatibility requirement includes the 1771-OAN, 1771-OD16, 1771-ODD, 1771-ODZ and some other modules.

The 1791-0A16 supports Horizontal or Vertical mounting, with maximum output rating of 600mA at 30 Degree Celsius and 60 Degree Celsius with maximum surge current of 10A for 50ms that is repeatable for every 2 seconds. When installing the block I/O, the recommended clearance to allow adequate air flow for ventiallation is 2 inches or 58.0 cm on all side of the module.
