The Allen-Bradley 803-A12 is a Bulletin 830 rotating cam limit switch that features 12 circuits for heavy duty and long-term use, especially for machines that require a repetitive cycle of operation and which run applications where the shaft rotation and the general machine motion are correlated with each other. The 803-A12 is a Style A switch and this means that it has double break contacts that are N. C. (normally-closed) and that are rated at 25A. It also has a maximum shaft rotation speed of 150 RPM, its shaft has a standard left-hand extension, and its cam duration ranges from as low as 14 degrees to as much as 346 degrees. Also present on the 803-A12 switch is a spring-loaded cam-roller assembly that comes mounted on the contact base, and internal dwell settings and timing settings that are adjustable. However, the user can only adjust the internal dwell and timing settings when the rotating cam limit switch is not powered on and in motion. double break contacts. The Allen-Bradley 803-A12 also operates at a temperature between -22 and 151 degrees Fahrenheit and it can be stored at a temperature between -22 and 199 degrees Fahrenheit. The 803-A12 switch, like other Bulletin 803 rotating switches, can rotate well in a clockwise or a counterclockwise direction. It can fit into a Type 1 enclosure and its approximate weight is 45 pounds. Bulletin 803 switches have typical shaft torque ratings per cam of 0.5 pounds on an inch when the 803-A12 switch’s cam roller operates in its valley, of 7 pounds when the cam roller needs to ride up the cam ramp, and the torque rating is 3 pounds on an inch when the cam roller needs to ride on the lobe.
