Allen Bradley 803 Rotating Cam Limit Switches

The 803 Rotating Cam Limit Switches series provides switches that are fully designed with machinery that performs shaft rotations. The main devices from this series are responsible for initiating contact actuation in different positions during shaft rotation. This series has been launched by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 803 Rotating Cam Limit Switches series provides different devices with different styles and specifications. These include Styles A and B which consist of devices with internal adjustments, Styles E, F, and EF that contain external timing and internal dwell adjustments and the Style P that consists of high-speed devices with low-cost internal adjustments.

The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 803 Rotating Cam Limit Switches operate with a current range of 10 to 25 Amps and an approximate shaft speed of 150 RPM. It is important to recall that all the models come with a different number of cam operators, and the most common number of switches is in the 2 to 12 range. Depending on the model, these devices come with different enclosures. These can be the type 1 enclosures for general purposes and the type 4 and 13 enclosures that protect the units against water, dust, and oil. The recommended operating temperature must be in the range of -30 to 66 degrees Celsius. If these devices are going to be used at a temperature below 0 degrees Celsius, these devices should not have any water or fluids around them that might freeze and impede contact operations. The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 803 Rotating Cam Limit Switches are mostly used in assembly and packing machines, waterway gate and lock operations, and in steel forming applications.
