803-A12X

The Allen-Bradley 803-A12X device is a rotating cam limit switch that is equipped with 12 circuits and a double shaft extension, instead of the standard left shaft extension. It has a Type 1 Enclosure rating and it is mountable on any plane-style mounting or surface. Like other 803 series switches, the 803-A12X switch features an internal dwell time and timing adjustments that can only be configured when the device is not in motion. Also installed on this switch is a spring-loaded cam-roller assembly that is mounted on the contact base. The user can use this switch on machines which feature operating cycles that are repetitive, and which have correlating motion and shaft rotation because the 803-A12X switch is heavy-duty and it has a lengthy life expectancy. It can also rotate in either direction (clockwise or counterclockwise).

As a “Style A” switch, the 803-A12X switch has a maximum shaft speed of 150 RPM, a cam duration time ranging from 14-degree minimum to 346-degree maximum, and 25 Amp N.C. or normally-closed double break contacts. The 803-A12X also has an operating temperature ranging from -30 to 66 degrees Celsius and a non-operating temperature range of -30 to 93 degrees Celsius. The typical shaft torques of this switch are 0.5 pound-inches with the cam roller in its valley, 3 pound-inches when the cam roller rides on its lobe, and the torque is 7 pound-inches when the cam roller rides up the cam ramp. The approximate weight of this switch is 45 pounds or 20.4 kilograms.
