The Allen-Bradley 803-A2 is a rotating cam limit switch that uses a Type 1 enclosure and has 2 circuits present. Mountable on any plane, this switch can rotate in either a clockwise or a counterclockwise direction, and it is used with machines that have repetitive operating cycles, especially those whose shaft rotation and general motion are correlated to each other. It is also capable of heavy duty use and it has a long lifespan. Its spring-loaded cam-roller assembly is mounted to the contact base. The 803-A2 switch also has an internal dwell time and internal timing adjustments, similar to other Allen-Bradley 803 series switches. Note that it is only possible to adjust the internal dwell time and timing when the device has is powered down and has stopped moving.

Because it is a Style A switch, the 803-A2 switch features a standard left shaft extension, 25 Amp. N. C. or normally closed double break contacts, a 150 RPM maximum shaft speed, and a 14-degree minimum to a 346-degree maximum cam duration. Its typical shaft torques are 7 pound-inches when the cam roller rides up the cam ramp, 0.5 pound-inches with the cam roller is in its valley, and 3 pound-inches when the cam roller rides on its lobe. The operating temperature range of this switch is from -30 to 66 degrees Celsius, while its non-operating temperature range is from -30 to 93 degrees Celsius. This switch weighs about 20 pounds or 9.1 kilograms.
