The Allen-Bradley 803-A24RA Rotating Cam Limit Switch is a heavy-duty circuit control device with a modified left-hand shaft extension and a modified speed reducer. It is used for the control of machinery that has repetitive cycle operation process. The 803-A24RA, like every Bulletin 803 Cam Limit Switch, is used for initiating contact actuation at different positions during shaft rotation, and it is built for long-life to heavy-duty industrial operations. The device has 2 integral circuits with a Cam-open contact, a spring-loaded Cam roller, and a rotating shaft with a 150 RPM maximum shaft speed. The 803-A24RA has a 25A normally-closed (N.C.) double break contact with a 150 to 15A MAKE BREAK current at 120 Volts AC and a 30 to 3A current at 600 Volts AC (at 50 to 60 Hertz line frequency). Its N.C. contact has an 1800 Volts AC MAKE to BREAK power rating and a maximum DC voltage range of 230 to 250 Volts DC at 1A.

The 803-A24RA’s speed reducer option has a 40:1 gear ratio which increases the torque generated by the input and reduces input power to achieve the desired output speed. The device also has an adjustable Cam segment (Lobe or Valley), a keyway used for connecting the shaft to the machine, and a selectable Cam switch timing, determined by the position of the Cam on the shaft. The 803-A24RA has the same operating mechanism as any devices in the Bulletin 803 Cam Limit Switch Series, but unlike some devices in the series, it has a Cam duration range of 14 to 346 degrees. The 803-A24RA has an operating temperature range between 30 degrees Celsius and 66 degrees Celsius (-22 degrees Fahrenheit and 150 degrees Fahrenheit), at 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity, and it comes with a NEMA Type 1 or 4 or 13 rated enclosure. It weighs about 20 kilograms (9.1 pounds), and total dimensions of 111.1 millimeters x 144.5 millimeters x 200 millimeters (4.38 inches x 5.69 inches x 7.88 inches).
