The 803-A2RH Rotating Cam Limit Switch is a control device from Allen-Bradley, used with heavy-duty machinery that has repetitive operation cycles, and it is suitable for manufacturing processes where the machine motion corresponds to the shaft rotation. It is also suitable for long-lived, heavy-duty applications, and it has a switch which can rotate in any direction on any plane. It comes with a normally-closed 25A rated contact with a 150A/15A and 30A/3A MAKE/BREAK rated current at 120 Volts  AC and 600 Volts AC, respectively, and with 1800 Volts A MAKE/MAKE contact ratings. The 803-A2RH has 2 independently-operated cams, with Lower (Valley) and Higher (lobe) cam segments, and its rotating shaft has a spring-loaded cam roller. Its keyway slot connects the shaft to machines, and it has a timing that is measured in degree and that is determined by the cam’s position on the shaft relative to the TDC.

The 803-A2RH’s circuit is activated when the higher cam segment passes over the spring-loaded cam roller, and the duration of the activation is called the dwell time. The dwell time directly corresponds to the size of the lobe or the upper cam segment and is deactivated when the lower cam segment passes over the cam roller assembly. The device’s selectable cam duration range is 14 degrees to 346 degrees, with a base shaft speed of 150 RPM, and it achieves machines control with the settings of the dwell time and the timing. It comes in a NEMA Type 1 enclosure, and it has a special right-hand shaft extension, in addition to the normal left-hand extension. The 803-A2RH’s operating temperature limits are 30 degrees Celsius to 66 degrees Celsius (-22 degrees Fahrenheit to 150 degrees Fahrenheit), and its storage temperature limits are -30 to 93 Celsius (-22 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit). It weighs about 20 kilograms (9.1 pounds), with overall dimensions of 111.1 millimeters x 144.5 millimeters x 200 millimeters (4.38 inches x 5.69 inches x 7.88 inches), and it is UL, CSA, and CE-certified.
