The 803-A2WX Rotating Cam Limit Switch by Allen-Bradley is a circuit control switch for heavy duty industrial machinery with repetitive cycle operations, and for applications where motion corresponds to shaft rotation. It is designed for applications with long operation periods, and it is suitable for industrial applications like Assembly and Packing Machines, Steel Forming / Heavy Metals, Punch Presses, and Waterway Gate / Lock Operations. It is designed with 2 independently-operated cam switches, with a rotating shaft with a 150rpm maximum shaft speed, and with a spring-loaded cam-roller. It comes with a Normally-Closed contact with 150A/15A MAKE/BREAK ratings at 120V AC and 30A/3A MAKE/BREAK ratings at 600V AC. The 803-A2WX has 2 CAM with higher (lobe) and lower (valley) cam segments, and a keyway slot which provides connection to the driven shaft to machines.

The 803-A2WX circuit is activated when the lobe brushes against the cam roller, and it is de-activated when the lower cam segment passes over the cam roller. It has a timing in the degree which is determined by the position of the cam on the shaft relative to the keyway, and the duration of the activation (dwell time) is determined with by the size of the lobe. It has a selectable cam duration range between 140 and 3460, and it has an internally-adjusted timing and dwells time, and the settings of the timing and the dwell time provides machine control. It comes with an external adjustment sprocket option, with a standard left shaft extension, and it has a double shaft extension modification. The 803-A2WX has functional temperature limits of 30 to 66 degrees Celsius (-22 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit), with -30 to 93 degrees Celsius (-22 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit) storage temperature limits, and it is enclosed in a NEMA Type 1 enclosure. It weighs about 20 Kg (9.1 pounds), with overall dimensions of 111.1 x 144.5 x 200 millimeters (4.38 x 5.69 x 7.88 inches), and it is CSA, UL, and CE certified.
