803-A44R

The 803-A44R is a Rotating Cam Limit Switch from the 803 series, manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This device finds its use in forceful applications with repeating control assignments, such as injection molding machines, punching presses, and steel forming units. The 803-A44R rotating cam limit switch initiates control circuit contact at different positions during its shaft rotation. It is mechanically designed to last a long time with a large number of operating cycles. It can be installed to rotate in either direction and can be mounted in any desired plane. The 803-A44R is a “style A” bulletin 803 rotating cam limit switch with 4 independent cam operators (control circuits at 25A, normally closed double break contacts) and with type 4 & 13 industrial enclosures (watertight, dust-tight, and oil-tight). It has a speed reducer with a twenty to one gear ratio. Its shaft extension is on the left side, as is standard.

The 803-A44R, like all bulletin 803 limit switches, is made of these main components: a strong steel base, rugged cast iron plates, sliding cam segments with locking nuts that are vibration resistant, ¾ of an inch diameter shaft, 25 Ampere normally closed cam operated contacts, and a conduit entrance either side. For setting purposes, this limit switch has internal dwell and timing adjustments. The user must open the cover and set dwell and timing on the cam by reading the desired position on the angular degree scale. The Allen-Bradley 803-A44R dimensions are 10.81 x 11.88 x 6.81 inches (274.6 x 301.6 x 173.0 millimeters) and the weight is 17.7 kilograms (39 pounds). Its working temperature range is around -30 to 66 degrees Celsius (-22 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit). Allen-Bradley announced the discontinuation of the 803-A44R  in the year 2007
