The 803-A44X is a Rotating Cam Limit Switch from 803 product family manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This device is used for heavy-duty material managing mechanisms, presses, steel forming with heavy metals, rotary tables, packaging machines, and in many other cases where sequential operations are an essential feature in control circuits. The 803-A44X follows motion with its shaft rotation either through a roller chain or something similar or directly, and then opens or closes the independent circuits at any desired positions. The shaft on this device can be rotated in either direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) and can be aligned in any plane. The 803-A44X limit switch is shaped like a style A switch from the 803 family. Its most significant features are four independent spring-loaded cam-roller assemblies which actuate 25A normally closed double break contacts. The device is protected by a 4 & 13 industrial enclosure type. It comes with shaft extensions on both sides.

The 803-A44X is assembled with a steel base, a shaft of 0.75 inches in diameter, side plates in iron, cam operated control contacts (25A), cam segments that are rotatable and fixed with locking nuts, and cable glands on both sides. This bulletin 803 device has angular degree scales on the cam and on the shaft for the user to execute easy internal timing and dwell adjustments. These settings must be completed only when the device is NOT operating. The product’s approximate dimensions and shipping weight are 274.6 x 301.6 x 173.0 millimeters (10.81 x 11.88 x 6.81 inches)  and 17.7 kilograms (39 pounds). Its permitted working temperature range is 30 to 66 degrees Celsius (-22 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit). Allen Bradley listed the 803-A44X part as discontinued in 2007.
