The 803-A5 Style A Internal Adjustment Rotating Cam Limit Switch is a member of the Allen Bradley Condition Sensing family of switches.  It belongs to the Style A series and can be used in a handful of heavy and rugged operations. The 803-A5 has a Type 1 enclosure and comes standard with a left-hand extension.  It has five circuits and a 25 Amp N.C. cam double break open contact. Built for rugged applications and durability, the 803-A5 has rugged cast-iron side plates, a heavy duty ¾ inch diameter over-sized ball bearing, steel base, and adjustable cam segments.  The latter has vibration resistant spiral lock nuts. Each side of the switch has a conduit entrance and the cam has a minimum and maximum duration of 14 degrees and 346 degrees respectively.

The 803-A5 Style A accommodates from 2 to 12 independently adjustable cam operators (without the other circuits being affected) and the shaft can reach a maximum speed of 150 Revolutions Per Minute (RPM).  It is mountable in any angle or place and operates without any restrain rotating in either direction. The switch is UL listed, CE and CSA Certified Compliant. As with members of its family of Allen Bradley Condition Sensing Switches, the 803-A5 switch senses rotating machine movement, through functions it initiates at various stages in the machine’s repetitive cycle.  By using cams that are mounted on a rotating shaft, contacts are actuated. The 803-A5 Style A Rotating Cam Limit Switch is suited for use in lock operations, steel forming, waterway gate, punch presses, heavy metals, injection molding, packing, and assembly machines.
