The 803-A6 is a Style “A” Rotating Cam Limit Switch by Allen-Bradley that is used with heavy-duty machinery that has repeating operational cycles for applications where the shaft rotation correlates with the machinery motion. It is built for heavy-duty industrial operation with a long product life and it is suitable for applications like steel forming, packaging/assembling, and injection molding. The 803-A6 has 6 cam-opened circuits with 25A-rated Normally-Closed (NC) double block contact, and a spring-loaded cam roller mounted on a contact base. It also has a rotating shaft with a 150 RPM base shaft speed, and 5 independently-operated cam assemblies with heavy-duty adjustable valleys and lobes. The device has a keyway slot for connecting the shaft to the machine, and it has a standard left-shaft extension. When the shaft rotates, the circuit is activated as the cam lobes brush through the cam roller, opening contacts 1 and 2 of the NC contact, and the circuit is de-activated when the cam valley passes through the switch’s cam roller.
