The 803-B2W is a Bulletin 803 Style B Rotating Cam Limit Switch from Allen Bradley. This module is a heavy-duty control circuit device, designed for assembly and packing machines, injection molding machines, waterway gate or lock operations, punch presses, and steel forming or heavy metal applications. The 803-B2W switch, similarly to all other Bulletin 803 rotating cam switches, is ideally applied when a machine’s motion is measured in shaft rotations, whether it is measured via a gear train or a roller chain. This switch can close or open independent circuits at any given angular position.

The 803-B2W is an internal adjustment switch that can handle speeds from zero to 150 RPM in either direction. While the user will require tools to loosen this module’s bolts in order to adjust the timing and dwell, the adjustment itself does not require any tools. The 803-B2W has an external adjustment sprocket, which is only available for switches that also have chain drive sprockets, such as the 803-B2W. This modification allows the operator to change the position of the switch, between the shaft and the driving mechanism. While the machine is not running, pull out the knob to disengage its spline. The operator can then turn the camshaft in increment of 5 degrees. The external sprocket requires a 0.38 inch No. 35 chain. The best thing about the 803-B2W is that it provides accurate repeatability. There’s no need to worry about inaccuracies while the switch is in use.
