The Allen-Bradley 803-B44RH Style B Rotating Cam Limit Switch is a heavy-duty circuit control switch with a right-hand shaft extension and a NEMA Type 4 and 13 industrial enclosure, used with industrial machines that have repetitive operation cycles, where motion correlate to shaft movement. The 803-B44RH also has a cam on a shaft, which produces actuation as the shaft rotates, and it is used in applications like the steel forming and assembly processes. It has 4 circuits with a 10A snap action contact with both AC and DC contact ratings, and it has a cam roller assembly. The device comes with 4 independent cam operator assemblies with adjustable lobes and valleys, and it comes with a 150 RPM rotating shaft speed with an oversized ball bearing and a keyway slot for connecting to machines. When the shaft is rotating, the cam lobes brush against the can roller assembly, activating the switch’s circuit in the process, and when the cam valley passes by the can roller, the circuit is deactivated.
The 803-B44RH has a dwell time (duration of the cam activation) which is determined by the size of the cam lobe, and it can either be at its maximum or its minimum depending on the angular alignments of the cam lobes. The dwell time is maximum when cam lobes are offset at the maximum angle, and it is minimum when the lobes are aligned, and it has a timing (moment of cam activation) in degree, determined by the position of the rotating cam with reference to the Top Dead Center/Keyway. The 803-B44RH has an internal adjustment for both timing dwell timing, which determines machines operations, and like all style B devices, it has a cam duration range of 14 to 346 degrees. The device comes with a right-hand shaft extension, and it is enclosed in a NEMA Type 1 indoor enclosure.
