The 803-B44X, manufactured by Allen-Bradley, is a particular kind of switch; it is a rotating cam limit switch. This Bulletin 803 product features an exclusive cam assembly positioning as well as an adjustment mechanism. Adjustments of the cam assemblies in terms of timing and dwell time parameters are both accurate and simple. The 804-B44X rotating cam limit switch is engineered for rugged durability and perfect repeatability in harsh working conditions. It is used in applications with relatively small working speeds, up to 150 RPM at its maximum speed. The kind of heavy-duty machines that the 803-B44X is used with include cranes, presses, steel forming machines, and packing machines. The materials used for the moving parts of the machines are of very high quality.

This model comes with four individual control circuits (10 Amperes, snap action contacts, 1 N.O. - 1 N.C.). Each of these single pole double throw circuits is actuated over cam roller assembly with user-defined timing and dwell parameters. A user will remove the cover, which is a style B cover, and position the cam on the shaft to determine timing (when the cam activates the circuit). Dwell time can be adjusted by positioning the rotatable cam segments and securing them with locking nuts. The cams must be firmly and immovably tied up to the shaft when the device is in operating conditions. This model is enriched with a special feature available on certain 803 switches only, which is a dual shaft extension. The Allen-Bradley 803-B44X limit switch dimensions, excluding its shaft, are 173.0 x 274.6 x 301.6 millimeters (6.81 x 10.81 x 11.88 inches), and its shipping weight is approximately 17.7 kilograms (39 pounds). Allen-Bradley ceased the production of this limit switch model in 2007.
