The Allen-Bradley 803-EF4X is a rotating cam limit switch from the Bulletin 803 product range. Rotating cam limit switches are designed to sense the movement of rotating machinery and to initiate functions at various points of the machine’s cycle. These industrial control circuit devices open and close cam-controlled contacts at different angles of the rotation. These switches are particularly well suited for numerous applications including punch presses, packing machines, waterway gates, and steel forming. These heavy-duty switches are specifically designed for industrial applications and they need almost no maintenance when they are installed properly. Switch shaft assemblies rotate smoothly on their precision-engineered heavy-duty bearings. The switches are designed to supports shafts rotating in either the clockwise or the anti-clockwise direction and they can be mounted in any plane or angle. Each cam can be set independently (without affecting the other circuits).

The 803-EF4X is a Style EF cam limit switch with 4 circuits and 25 A normally closed (N.C) double break cam opened contacts. The maximum shaft speed supported by the 803-EF4X is 150 RPM. The cam dwell duration can be varied from a minimum of 15 degrees to a maximum of 360 degrees. The 803-EF4X supports external dwell and timing adjustments; the adjustment screw is located on the front cover of the enclosure. A double shaft extension is available as a standard feature (which is denoted by the “X” suffix). The 803-EF4X is available in Type 13 (watertight, oil-tight, industrial grade) enclosures. The operating temperature range is from -22F to 150 degrees Fahrenheit (-30 to 66 degrees Celsius). The dimensions are 274.6 x 242.1 x 158.8 millimeters and it weighs approximately 12.2 kilograms.
