The Allen-Bradley 803-F1212 is a Rotating Cam Limit Switch from the series 803. It is applicable in almost any industrial environment, but it performs best when installed on heavy-duty equipment with repetitive control cycles. The 803-F1212 rotating cam limit switch is coupled with the target machine in a way that makes a relationship between the target machine movement and the shaft rotation on the device. While the shaft rotates, it makes actuation of independent control circuits over the cam operators at various positions (which are user adjustable). It is constructed to operate 24/7 and to withstand an extensive number of working sequences. The rotating cam limit switch operates in the same way, whether rotating CW or CCW. The 803-F1212 rotating cam limit switch is manufactured as a “style F” device from the bulletin 803. This device is equipped with the 803 series maximum of 12 separate cam-rollers installed on the shaft, which actuate twelve 10A rated single pole double throw contacts. The cam duration can be adjusted in the range of 12 to 348 degrees and the device is type 1 & 13 industrial enclosure rated. The special feature of this model is the external adjustment of timing and dwell parameters. These settings are conducted with a screwdriver, even while a machine is in motion.
All bulletin 803 limit switches, including the 803-F1212, are composed of the following main parts: a firm steel bottom surrounded by rugged cast iron plates, 0.75 inch diameter shaft, a set of vibration resistant cam assemblies (with 10A snap action 1 NO - 1 NC contacts), and a cabling entrance on either side of the module. This rotating cam limit switch has the following dimensions: 17.56 x 7.00 x 3.25 (446.1 x 177.8 x 82.6 millimeters). The product’s weight is approximately 20 pounds (9.1 kilograms) and its ambient working conditions are -22 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit (-30 to 66 degrees Celsius). Allen-Bradley ended production of the 803-F1212 rotating cam limit switch in 2007.
