The 803-F412XT is a rotating cam switch by Allen Bradley with 4 internal rotating circuits. It comes in the Style “F” design and can be enclosed in Type 1 or Type 13 industrial enclosure. The 803-F412XT has 1 N.O. (Normally Open) and 1 N.C. (Normally Closed) snap action contact.  The “X” letter in the catalog number 803-F412XT shows this module’s double-shaft extension feature, meaning that it has two shafts on either side of the module (one on the left-hand side and one on the right). It has internally adjustable cams which are specific to the Style “F”. These cams can only be adjusted when the limit switch is stopped. The Style “F” has 10 Amps with 1 Normally Open and 1 Normally Closed contact.

The maximum shaft rotation speed of this module is 400 RPM and the cam duration is a minimum of 12 degrees to a maximum of 348 degrees. Between -22 and 150 degrees Fahrenheit (-30 to 66 degrees Celsius) is the operating temperature of the 803-F412XT, whereas -22 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit (-30 to 93 degrees Celsius) is the storage temperature. The operation of these cam switches is such that when a motion is applied to the shaft, it rotates; it then, in turn, rotates the internal cams as well as the external cams, which, depending on the dwell, will activate the switches controlling the actions of the equipment. The dwell duration of the 803-F412XT  is adjustable from a minimum of 12 degrees to 348 degrees maximum and the “ON” time of the circuit is determined based on these designs and angles. The 803-F412XT cam switches are usually used in the low voltage range and are widely used in applications where a series of actions are to be repeated depending on the rotary output of another system.
