The 803-F512 is a 1980 rotating cam limit switch, manufactured by the Allen Bradley brand. Similarly to other Rotating Cam limit Switches, the 803-F512 comes with contacts, a fully functional circuit, an operative cam, and a rotating shaft. The cams are normally mounted on the rotating shaft.  The 803-F512 switch activates contacts by utilizing the cam. This switch is used in devices such as punch presses, assembly and packing machines, and injection molding machines. Furthermore, it can also be used in the formation of steel and other heavy metals. The 803-F512 senses the motion of rotating appliances and initiates functions at different points of the appliance’s recurrent cycle. The 803-F512 also closes and opens contacts at various angles of device shaft rotation. The Rotating Cam Limit Switch comes with five circuits. Its rotating shaft can only reach a maximum of 150 revolutions per minute when in fact other rotating cam limit switches can reach a maximum of 400 RPM. The switch can accommodate 2 to 12 independent cam operators. The 803-F512 has snap action contacts rated 10A. It has contacts labeled 1, 2, 3 & 4. When the cam roller rides onto the lobe, two of those contacts (1 & 2) close and the remaining two, (3 and 4) open

The 803-F512 has a single shaft arrangement. The left shaft extension is the established arrangement for the switch. Additionally, the 803-F512 also has external dwell and timing adjustments. A screwdriver can make those adjustments when the device is in motion. Internally adjustable cams are available for the switch. The internally adjustable cams can be modified only when the switch’s shaft is blocked. This Rotating Cam Limit Switch is a NEMA Type 1 and 13 enclosure.
