The 803-P10 is a Rotating Cam Limit Switch from the 803 product family manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This device is used in almost any heavy duty industrial environment. The best examples are material managing mechanisms, auto industry, punch presses, and many other applications in which sequential operations are of vital interest in control circuits. The 803-P10 follows a movement of the target in direct contact with the shaft by means of shaft rotation. Then the shaft by rotation, through the cam operators attached to it, opens or closes independent circuits at desired positions. The shaft on this rotating limit switch can rotate in either direction and can be installed it in any plane. The 803-P10 rotating cam limit switch comes with a style “P” housing. The most important features of this robust device are ten cam-roller assemblies (independent, spring-loaded) which actuate 25A normally closed, cam opened, double break contacts. The device is protected by a type 1 enclosure. It comes with shaft extension on the left-hand side.
This bulletin 803 device is mainly a mechanical device, consuming minimal electrical energy (contacts dissipation). It has angular degree scales for an easy internal setting of timing and dwell parameters. A timing parameter determines when the cam activates the circuit, while the dwell time determines how long the contact will be open. The 803-P10 approximate dimensions and shipping weight are 445.2 millimeter x 181.0 millimeters x 138.1 millimeters (17.54 inches x 7.13 inches x 5.44 inches) and 16.3 kilograms (36 pounds). Its ambient working temperature range is -30 to 66 degrees Celsius (-22 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit). Allen-Bradley ceased the manufacturing of the 803-P10 rotating cam limit switch in the year 2007.
