803-P10X

The Allen-Bradley 803-P10X is a rotating cam limit switch in the Bulletin 803 family of condition-sensing switches. Rotating cam limit switches can sense the movement of rotating machinery (shafts) and they can initiate operations at different points in the machine’s repetitive cycle. The 803-P10X’s cams are mounted on the shaft and they actuate the contacts as the shaft rotates.

Suitable applications for the 803-P10X cam switch include punch presses, assembly lines, injection molding machines, and steel forming machines. The 803-P10X and other Bulletin 803 switches are made for rugged industrial applications and they require very little maintenance when properly installed and used. Their switch shaft assemblies rotate smoothly on long-lasting, precision bearings. The 803-P10X cam switch operates equally well rotating in either the clockwise or the counter-clockwise direction and they can be mounted at any angle. Each cam can be independently adjusted without affecting the other circuits.  The 803-P10X switch is a Style P cam limit switch with 10 circuits and 25 A double break normally closed (NC) cam opened contacts. The 803-P10X cam switch is designed for a maximum shaft speed of 400 RPM. The cams are included with the switch and the cams’ dwell duration time can vary from a minimum of 11 degrees to a maximum of 349 degrees. Style P switches support internal dwell time and timing adjustments which can be only be made when the device is not moving. On the 803-P10X switch, the double shaft extension is available as a standard (which is indicated by the “X” suffix). The 803-P10X is available in a Type 1 (general purpose) enclosure only. It can operate at a temperature range of -22 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit (-30 to 66 degrees Celsius) and it weighs 8.77 kilograms.
