The Allen-Bradley 803-P4WX is a Style P rotating cam limit switch featuring an external adjustment sprocket, which allows the user to modify or change the relative position between the shaft and the driving mechanism, the double shaft extension, and the 4 circuits. A heavy-duty switch with a long operating life expectancy, this switch is ideal for use with machines that have repetitive operation cycles with correlated shaft rotation and general machine motion. The 803-P4WX rotating cam limit switch comes with 25 Amp. N. C. or normally closed double break contacts, 11 degrees minimum and 349 degrees maximum cam duration, and a 400 RPM maximum shaft speed, which are all standard features of Style P switches. This switch is also equipped with internal dwell and timing settings that are adjustable when the device is not in motion and with a spring-loaded cam-roller assembly that is mounted to the switch’s contact base.

Weighing approximately 18 pounds or 8.2 kilograms, the 803-P4WX rotating cam limit switch has a Type 1 enclosure and it is mountable on any plane and at any angle. Note that it also has the capacity to rotate in either a clockwise or a counterclockwise direction. This switch has typical shaft torques of 7 pounds on an inch when the cam roller rides up the cam ramp, 3 pounds on an inch when the cam roller rides on the highest point or lobe, and 0.5 pounds on an inch with the cam roller in the lowest point or valley. Its non-operating temperature range is from -30 to 93 degrees Celsius, while its operating temperature ranges from -30 to 66 degrees Celsius.
