803-P5X

The Allen-Bradley 803-P5X is a Style “P” rotating cam limit switch that comes with a double shaft extension and with 5 circuits. This is a heavy-duty switch with a long product life expectancy that is ideal for use with machines with repetitive operation cycles with the mechanical motion and shaft rotation correlated to each other. Like other Style “P” switches, present on the 803-P5X switch is 11 degrees minimum and 349 degrees maximum for cam duration, a 400 RPM maximum shaft speed, and 25 Amp. NC or normally-closed double break contacts. The 803-P5X cam switch is also equipped with internal dwell and timing settings which are adjustable only when the device has been stopped and a spring-loaded cam-roller assembly are mounted to the contact base.

The operating temperature range of the 803-P5X Style “P” rotating cam limit switch ranges from -30 to 66 degrees Celsius, while its storage temperature range is from -30 to 93 degrees Celsius. This switch is protected from moisture and debris with a Type 1 enclosure and it can be mounted on any plane and still be capable of rotating well in either a counterclockwise or a clockwise direction. Its typical shaft torques are 0.5 pounds on an inch with the cam roller in the valley or lowest position, of 3  pounds on an inch when the cam roller rides on the lobe or the highest position, and one of 7 pounds on an inch when the cam roller rides up the cam ramp. The 803-P5X rotating cam limit switch also has an approximate weight of 6.4 kilograms or 14 pounds.
