803-P6

The Allen-Bradley 803-P6 heavy-duty cam switch limits the movement of spinning machinery by starting functions at several points of the engine’s repetitive cycle. Additionally, the function of the heavy-duty switch is to control devices and open and close their links at specific angles of the machine shaft rotation. All the styles in this series move contacts by means of cams which are mounted on the rotating shaft. The Allen-Bradley 803-P6 is available in six styles to ensure that it fits several industrial needs. It is constructed and designed for rugged applications. Its quality construction means that it will need little upkeep if it is correctly maintained. All the 803-P6’s switches can function equally well when spinning in either direction and this can be maintained at any angle or plane. Each of the cams can be attuned independently without touching any other circuits. The contact dwell can be set anywhere from 11 to 360 degrees.

The standard features for the Allen-Bradley 803-P6 include shaft speeds of up to 400 rpm. Also, it has internal and external dwell and timing adjustments and it has snap-action contacts or a heavy-duty double-break contact. The Allen-Bradley 803-P6 also has double or single shaft arrangements. There are also 2-12 independent circuits which facilitate the functionality of the 803-P6.  The circuits have a snap-action contact block and a contact-open contact assembly and 2 adjustable cam segments per cam. They have a repetitive cycle of functionality where the motions are linked to the shaft rotation. The devices in the Allen-Bradley 803-P6 play a role of initiating contact actuation at a particular point during the shaft rotation. There are various applications for the 803-P6, including punch presses, packing and assembling machines, heavy metals/steel formation, lock operations/waterway gate, and injection molding machines.
