The 803-P6X rotating cam limit switch is a model from the 803 series, which is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. Rotating cam switches are used in a wide range of applications within the industry but are more relevant in machines that operate with repetitive cycles of operation. The Allen-Bradley 803-P6X rotating cam limit switch is a style “P” cam. This style operates with 25 Amps at a maximum shaft speed of 400 RPM. The minimum cam duration is 11 degrees, while the maximum cam duration is 349 degrees. The Allen-Bradley 803-P6X rotating cam limit switch counts with 6 cams and this particular variation has a double shaft extension, which allows it to be adapted to larger machines. The 803-P6X switch is featured with a NEMA 1 enclosure; this type of enclosure makes the unit capable of operating only in indoor environments. The enclosure protects the 803-P6X  unit from external particles while at the same time protecting the user from making contact with the hazardous parts of this unit.

This rotating cam limit switch also has two double break contacts and it counts with a heavy steel base. The Allen-Bradley 803-P6X rotating cam limit switch has one cam opened contact assembly and a snap action contact block assembly. It also includes internal dwell and timing adjustments, allowing it to be programmed. Even though the Allen-Bradley 803-P6X rotating cam limit switch can operate at low temperatures, contact with fluids (water, etc.) at these low temperatures can limit or reduce the operational function ranges of the unit. Keep it away from freezing water or other fluids in order to preserve the unit’s flexibility. Its operating temperature should not drop lower than -22 degrees Fahrenheit or exceed 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
