The 803-PL2W is a Bulletin 803 rotating cam limit switch, manufactured by Allen Bradley. Its purpose is to provide timing and dwell for systems that have a repetitive cycle of operation. This switch is usually applied in punch presses, steel forming and heavy metal applications, and assembly and packing machines. This Allen Bradley 803-PL2W, as well as the other rotating cam limit switches from the Bulletin 803 series, is durable and built for rugged applications. When installed properly, the switch shaft rotates smoothly to ensure a long lifespan. Just like other Bulletin 803 switches, the 803-PL2W can rotate in either direction and can be mounted on any angle or surface. Each cam on this switch can be adjusted individually, without affecting the other circuits. The 803-PL2W comes with an N.C. double break contact, supplied with constant a 25 A current. It has 2 independent cam operators and can rotate up to a maximum shaft speed of 400 RPM. A Type 1 enclosure protects its internal parts and its cam duration ranges between 11 degrees and 349 degrees. The “PL” in the catalog number denotes this switch does not come with any cams. An operator can order cam kits separately for the switch, but the cams must be specifically designed for the Style “P” type of switch, otherwise they will not fit together. The 803-PL2W comes with an external adjustment sprocket, which allows operators to change the settings of the shaft and driving mechanism. The width of the 803-PL2W is 7.13 inches and its height is 5.44 inches, while its shipping weight is around 13 pounds. Note, however, that this weight will increase significantly with the addition of a cam kit.
