The Allen-Bradley 803-PL3X is a Style P rotating cam limit switch that has a double shaft extension, but which comes with a left-hand shaft extension. Its first cam is found at the 3rd position from the shaft extension. The 803-PL3X also has internal dwell and timing settings that the user can configure, but only when the device is completely stopped. Style P switches, including the 803-PL3X switch, come with a cam duration of 11 degrees minimum and 349 degrees maximum, a maximum shaft speed of 400 RPM, a Type 1 enclosure, and 25 Amp. N. C. or normally closed double break contacts. You can also find a spring-loaded cam-roller assembly mounted to the contact base of this switch.

The adjustable degrees of dwell time for the 803-PL3X switch are 27 to 33 degrees when the N.C. contact opens and they are 327 to 333 degrees when the N.C. contact remains closed. Its typical shaft torques are 3 pounds on an inch when the cam roller rides on its highest point or lobe, 7 pounds on an inch when the cam roller rides up its cam ramp, and they are 0.5 pounds on an inch with the cam roller is in its lowest point or valley.
