The Allen-Bradley 1769-L20 is a CompactLogix Controller. It can support up to 8 modules in a maximum of 2 I/O banks with 1 expansion cable allowed and it has 1 RS-232 port available. LED indicators let the users monitor the controller status, the channel 0 RS-232 port status, and the channel 1 RS-232 port status. The channel 0 serial port has been set up for DH-485 communications.

This controller also comes with a 64 KB user memory which is allotted for both user available memory and memory reserved for overhead. The 1747-BA battery powers this controller and it is replaceable. The entire 1769-L20 controller measures 50 x 87 x 118 millimeters and has a shipping weight of 0.715 pounds. Operators can use a 1747-CP3 or 1756-CP3 programming cable with it and it can be mounted on a panel mount or DIN rail.

The 1769-L20 comes with a backplane current of 600 mA at 5 Volts DC and 0 mA at 24 Volts DC. Intended for clean, dry environments, it has an operating temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius and storage temperature of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. Its ambient non-condensing relative humidity is 5 to 95% and the operating vibration is 5 g at 10 to 500 Hertz, 0.030. The 1769-L20’s operating shock is 30 g at 11 milliseconds when panel-mounted and 20 g at 11 milliseconds when DIN rail-mounted and its non-operating shocks are 40 g and 30 g, respectively.
